St. Michael’s Church was  built in 1956 and the first mass took place there on Christmas Day of that year. An adjoining parish hall was completed in the spring of 1961 at about the same time as the adjacent property, then known as Beau Sejour, was purchased. It is on this property that the Rectory is located (on the hillside at the northern end of the church). In 1967 when the diocese of Hamilton in Bermuda was established St. Michael's mission became a parish church.

The Church's structural design is in the form of the Trinity with congregational pews arranged on three sides of the main altar. The style of the Church includes distinct Bermudian characteristics, most notably the solid stone construction, topped off by the traditional white-washed roof. As with all Bermuda houses, the roof serves as a catchment area for the collection of rainwater for storage in a tank built into the building's foundation.

Inside the church, the design is simple with cool clean lines, highlighted by a Bermuda cedar altar and a decorative stained glass window. Statues of the Child Jesus, St. Joseph and St. Jude, carved from linden wood decorate the interior.
